Marshmallow - Althaea officinalis
Start indoors or direct sow in spring when danger of frost has passed. Transplant or thin to 2 ft apart. Plant likes a sunny spot with some shade and a good amount of water.
Harvest roots in the fall once the above ground parts have died back. Rich in mucilage- soothes ulcers, digestive complaints and sore throats. Leaves can also be used. Prepare as a cold infusion.
Each packet contains approximately 30 seeds harvested from my garden in 2017.
